I am so impressed with the quality of these pans. They are durable stainless steel and have a unique ring-based nonstick finish. The rings are textured and contribute to the nonstick effect. I love that there are no PFAS, etc. The pans are easy to care for. They come with a manual, but all I did was wash them and start cooking in them. They wash up so easily. Even when cooking sticky foods such as rice or eggs, the food lifts right out and the pans wash clean effortlessly. The handles stay cool, as long as I don’t grip them at the base. These are the most durable nonstick pans I’ve ever used.
I got away from teflon/nonstick like 15+ years ago, and have mostly been cooking in stainless steel and cast iron. I'm good at it, but it does take effort. I wanted something more effortless so I got a couple things from hexclad. They DO work well but... thankfully i never bought a full hexclad set - they advertised themselves as PFAS free and then we found out they do use a forever chemical in their coating. Not cool, hexclad.
These Circlad pans have a similar idea - a stainless grid/matrix over a very nonstick surface. But these do NOT have any forever chemicals in the coating. Their nonstick coating is ceramic which is so delightfully slippery I cannot even tell you! I recently got a couple of other ceramic pots and looooooove them so much.
You will LOVE cooking on this. But even with the protective "circlad" matrix over the ceramic, you'll want to know some things:
*Never use pam/cooking spray on these. the aerosol stuff will grip to the ceramic and ruin the nonstick factor. Use regular oil/butter.
*Use low to medium heat - these pans conduct heat really well and you will not need high heat. High heat can cause imperceptible damage to the ceramic too and make them not last as long.
*Because of how ceramic works, the nonstick factor will not last forever. these will not be heirloom pans. They will likely last 2, maybe 3-4 years (the 3-4 is because of the protective circlad matrix) before they start sticking. At this price point, I wish these could buy "buy once" quality, but they will need to be replaced periodically.
Been testing these pans for few days are they are perfect. Nonstick of your breakfast. Very easy to clean and dry. PFAS-, PFOA-, and PTFE-free. If avoiding traditional fluoropolymer nonstick coatings is important to you, this is a positive feature. The manufacturer explicitly states the cookware contains none of these substances. Induction compatible. The pans are designed for induction as well as gas, electric, ceramic, and halogen cooktops. Stainless-steel construction Stainless steel generally offers better durability and scratch resistance than ceramic nonstick coatings. The "Circlad" interior pattern appears intended to improve food release while retaining stainless-steel durability. A 10-inch (26 cm) and 12-inch (30 cm) combination covers most household cooking needs.
I had never heard of this brand of cookware before. I was particularly interested in the
non stick claims because it seems like every nonstick I get lately makes big claims but
fails to deliver.
First impressions are that this is a very solidly built set. The handles are comfortable and
substantial. The nonstick coating feels thick and seems like it will resist scratching. I like
that the texture on the surface isn't deep. I have a different brand that has deep texture
that I can't clean properly. The texture helps with the nonstick but still allows for easy
cleaning.
I have only used these a handful of times, but I really like them so far. I think it's
important to read the directions and season the pan before use. Also try to avoid using
metal utensils. High heat shouldn't be used all the time either, only for
searing/browning.
The only negative so far is the price. It's a little steep (at time of review about $180, but
there's a 25% coupon, so they're around $142). But for quality cookware it's actually not
that bad.
Some years ago I developed the philosophy that in order to do excellent work one needs excellent tools. I love to cook, and only use the use the best knives, cutting boards, pots and pans. So when I had the opportunity to try the BE Living Circlad series of pans, I was intrigued.
The first thing that I noted as I was unboxing the pans was the weight. Not too heavy to easily manage and lift, but heavy enough to feel like I’m dealing with something substantial. There are two pans in the set, a10” and a 12”, which are two of my favorite sizes for cooking dishes. There are numerous concentric circles inside both pans, I assume for heat conduction. The handles are solid, fit comfortably in my palm, and are securely riveted to the body of the pan. The set is described as compatible with gas flame, electric and induction stoves. As I only have gas in my house, I can only review its effectiveness with that.
The instructions are simple- wash I warm soapy water, dry thoroughly. I heated it up over a medium to low flame, added a high smoke point oil and went to town.
I was thoroughly impressed. My onions sautéed evenly, my chicken pieces browned quickly with a delicious crust. The food came out perfect, with a finish that felt both professional and effortless.
Clean up was a breeze as well. I let the pan cool off then washed it in warm, soapy water again. Every last bit of food washed off in seconds. I dried the pan, put it away but now it’s part of my regular rotation.
Instructions are to use wooden or silicone spoons and spatulas, as metal can scratch the finish. Heat the pan slowly, let it cool before washing. All very basic cookware instructions. I can see that if I will treat this pan well, it will return the favor, and I expect to have years of use ahead of me.
At the current price of $189 for the two pans, this is not an inexpensive purchase, rather an investment in a top notch kitchen. I do believe they’re worth every penny, and I would buy them again in a heartbeat.
